The Self and the Higher Self
This is what Day 1 seems to be about.

Detail of Creation of Adam Michelangelo (not really the first day)
Day 1
Started with archetypes and in particular the Troubadour. But really we can talk about this as the notion of the self. Who am I? Who do I want to be? How do I get there?
There is the self I am, and then the archetypical self… the higher self.
Maybe the higher self and the archetypical self are not the same. Maybe there is an aspirational higher self which is different from the archetype I am embodying.
Other First Days
I think of other firsts … like the first day in Genesis - the creation of light. I think of the first house in astrology, which is the construction of the self. I think of the first day of school, orientation, or the first day at a new job, also orientation.
We have creation and orientation of the SELF.
In Bifo’s fantastic book, the Soul at Work, the preface begins with a discussion of the soul as a falling together. I interpret this as an orientation - the soul is an orientation. We can imagine the soul as the higher self. That the construction of the self or creation of the self is an orientation of the self. It is a light being shined on the components of the self, and then the direction they move together. This is like the spin of the atom, or the chirality of the universe.
Solipsistic
Is it solipsistic to think about the self? Well without a solid self how can anyone integrate with a society of selves? It is the old question will the world change if every individual changes or do we need to change the structure of the world? Probably both and both are related —- like yesterday’s form/content divide.
Thank you for joining me on this experiment.
